We are a 15 Bed Observation Unit with patient diagnoses including chest pain, CHF, abdominal pain, COPD, cellulitis, stroke, ETOH, etc. We also take post-surgical short stay patients and cath lab patients. We manage drips, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin, among others.

Your day.
As an Observation Unit Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:
Work in a fast-paced setting with a variety of patient diagnoses, much like the ED
Adapt to quickly changing dynamic situations calmly and effectively
Self-schedule and take 1 to 2 call shifts per 6 weeks
Work collaboratively and professionally as a team with physician partners and peers
Monitor heart rhythms; maintain IV drips for more acute patients
Your experience.
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
ASN/ADN or BSN from an accredited program
Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years of hire unless you have a minimum of 15 years of proven, continuous acute care experience, required
Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana
Current BLS and ACLS certification
One year of cardiac nursing experience, preferred
